A pundit from Navua charged with four counts of rape, one of sexual assault and one of recording pornographic material, has denied all the allegations and filed an application for bail.
It is alleged that in October, the man raped an iTaukei woman from the community and recorded the act on his phone.
When he appeared in the High Court, the accused queried why he was being charged with six counts when he was only questioned for three.
Justice Thushara Kumarage told him the charges were the jurisdiction of the Office of Director Public Prosecutions and he could challenge the latter during trial.
The pundit also applied for bail, however, he must wait for the prosecution to file its response to this application which will be heard on January 26 next year.
