The Ministry of Policing, in collaboration with the Office of the Solicitor General and the Fiji Police Force, has called for public submissions on the review of the Police Act 1965.

From 11 August to 2 September 2025, nationwide consultations will be held in various towns and cities to gather views on the current Act and potential improvements.

Interested individuals and organisations can also submit feedback online via https://www.police.gov.fj/pra before 11.59pm on 2 September.

Consultations will be held at venues including village halls, town halls, and community centres across Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

The Ministry is encouraging widespread participation, noting that the review aims to modernise the legislation to meet current policing needs and community expectations.

“This is an opportunity for every Fijian to contribute towards shaping a Police Act that serves our people today and into the future,” said Minister for Policing, Iowane Navailurua.
