Psychiatric report yet to be furnished

THE psychiatric report of a 25-year-old accused of killing and dismembering the body of his 86-year-old maternal grandfather in Lutu, Wainibuka, this year has yet to be furnished.

Charles Laxton Sundar appeared before Justice Dane Tuiqereqere in the High Court in Suva.

Mr Sundar faces a count of murder committed on July 12 this year at Lutu Village in Wainibuka.

According to the prosecution, Mr Sundar still needs more sessions at St Giles before a psychiatric evaluation report is compiled and furnished to the court.

The psychiatric report will ascertain whether Mr Sundar is fit to take a plea.

Mr Sundar has been further remanded in custody and the case adjourned to December 23.
