The Public Service Commission (PSC) says unpaid acting allowances for Ministry of Education employees are currently being processed for payment.
PSC chairman Luke Rokovada acknowledged that some staff, including drivers, have not received overtime payments since August 2025.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed he has received complaints from affected employees and has referred the matter to the Ministry of Education for action.
Fijian Teachers Association general secretary Paula Manumanunitoga said the union will meet with Education Minister Aseri Radrodro today to discuss the issue.
“Mr Radrodro has assured us that payments will be made,” he said.
“We have asked our members to bear with us while this is sorted.”
