Prime Minister announces cabinet reshuffle

The Prime Minister has announced a Cabinet reshuffle, effective from 19 January 2026, as the Coalition Government approaches the end of its third year in office.

In a statement, the Prime Minister said the changes involve adjustments to ministerial responsibilities aimed at strengthening governance as the country enters its fourth year under the current administration.

Under the reshuffle, Sakiasi Ditoka has been appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade.

Mosese Bulitavu takes on the portfolio of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management.

Lynda Tabuya will serve as Minister for Information, Environment and Climate Change.

Charan Jeath Singh becomes Minister for Public Enterprises, Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts.

Ifereimi Vasu has been assigned the iTaukei Affairs and includes iTaukei culture, heritage and arts.

Tomasi Tunabuna will oversee Agriculture and the Sugar Industry.

The Prime Minister will retain responsibility for Civil Service and Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics.

Sachida Nand has also been reassigned as Assistant Minister for Commerce and Business Development.
