ATTORNEY-General and Minister for Education Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum officially opened the 43rd Vodafone Fiji Primary Schools Football Association Inter District Championship at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.

The annual IDC has attracted a total of 25 teams participating in the under-12 and under-14 grades.

During his official address, Sayed-Khaiyum told the participants that everybody could not win.

He said the point was to play their best.

“Sometimes there is a lot of victory in defeat,” Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“If you lose now, you will also be able to focus on how to improve yourself. Winning is not exactly everything but you should see defeat as the means of learning from it and being able to win the next time.”

The tournament continues tomorrow with the finals scheduled for Friday.
