The Fiji Primary Schools Football Association launched the 48th Fiji Primary Schools Inter-District Championship (IDC) on Wednesday, October 24, 2025, at the Fiji Football Association headquarters in Vatuwaqa.
The tournament is set to run from October 27 to 31, 2025, at Kings Charles Park, Nadi, this year’s competition will be a special one as it celebrates FPSFA’s Golden Jubilee.
Since its establishment in 1975, the FPSFA has played a critical role in grassroots football- developing and producing some of the nation’s finest players. This year’s IDC promises to be the biggest one yet, with 21 boys’ teams and 11 girls’ teams competing from four zones across the country.
Association executive member Avinesh Raj, in his opening remarks reflected on the association proud history and resilience.
“This year is a special celebration, our Golden Jubilee, a testament to fifty years of passion, perseverance and purpose in developing football from the grassroots”, he said.
Fiji FA’s CEO Mohammed Yusuf also reaffirmed FFA’s commitment to grassroots development.
“Every talent needs a chance, every talent needs exposure, and every talent deserves to be developed. The primary school IDC remains a vital platform for nurturing Fiji’s future football stars”.
FFA has committed $20,000 in for the competition, with $15,000 as a development grant and $5000 from the Youth Development Fund specifically to enhance the girl’s competition.

As the countdown begins, the 48th IDC stands as a proud celebration of Fiji’s football future, firmly rooted in half a century of community spirit and development.
