THE High Court in Lautoka has deferred the pretrial conference hearing for a man accused of the alleged rape of a Virgin Australia Airlines cabin crew member.
Iliesa Tanoa Degei appeared before Justice Sunil Sharma charged with the alleged rape and sexual assault of the crew member in Nadi in late 2024.
The court heard that while the pretrial checklist and agreed facts had been submitted, the defence requested seven days to provide comments on the documents.
The defence further sought 14 days thereafter to fix a date for the pretrial conference; however, Justice Sharma confirmed the court would hear the matter in April.
Justice Sharma adjourned the case to April 15 for the pretrial conference hearing.
Bail has been extended for the accused.
