THE Public Rental Board (PRB) will look into complaints by residents of living conditions at the Raiwai estate in Suva.
PRB acting general manager Patrick Veu said they would look at those complaints that were not attended to last year.
“I cannot say anything at the moment. I suppose that every complaint that comes in, we attend to them. If there are no complaints attended to, then I would like to know,” Mr Veu said.
“Complaints, once they come we register and then we attend to these complaints. This is something I need to look at with the people on the ground.”
Mr Veu added that for the Raiwai estate, the five-year process of general maintenance was not due at the moment.
“What we’re doing is when any complaint pops up, the team attends to it. But there are no plans to do a general maintenance on the estate this year,” he said.
But he highlighted that the flats at the Mead Rd estate would undergo general maintenance works this year.
“For other estates as and when the need arises, our people attend to them,” he said. “The general maintenance process for Mead Rd is in the pipeline and will start very soon from maybe next month.
“We will tender it for painting, carpentry and drainage works for interior and exterior. It is costly, but we schedule it at every five years.”
He said the last general maintenance was done six years ago and was due this year. Funds have been allocated for this exercise.
