Sanjesh Prasad has been appointed as the new chief executive officer for Vision Investments Ltd (VIL) effective from January 1, 2023.
In a market announcement through the South Pacific Stock Exchange, the company shared that Mr Prasad first joined Homecentres (Fiji) Ltd in 1999 as the IT manager before the takeover of Homecentres by Courts (Fiji) Ltd which was later renamed Vision Investments Ltd.
A career executive with 23 years of service with the company, Mr Prasad took on successive senior management roles and on April 1, 2021 he was appointed to the role of the chief operating officer as part of the final phase in the succession plan.
Company chairman Dilip Khatri said Mr Prasad was a very experienced and capable manager and in this new CEO role, he would lead the company and the group into the next phase of growth and diversification.
Mr Prasad said being appointed CEO was a momentous phase of his career.
“My profound gratitude and appreciation to the chairman Mr Dilip Khatri, deputy chairman Mr Navin Patel, CEO Mr PL Munasinghe and the Board of Directors for having faith and trust in my abilities to lead this esteemed organisation.
It is a great privilege and an absolute honour to lead a diversified and progressive company,” he said.
He said the company had gone through various phases of change and development growing from strength to strength.
“The transformation from a retail business to a giant conglomerate is a direct reflection of our strategic vision, visionary leadership and sustainable growth policies. I joined the company some 23 years ago as an IT practitioner. It has been a memorable journey and an incredible experience of my life which I will always cherish. Passion, humility and simplicity are the three greatest virtues of life and the key for one to be successful. I have a simple message, stay focused and dream big.”
Mr Prasad said to lead the company in the next phase of invigorating diversification and growth, his key focus would be on the following strategic developments:

- Focus on digital transformation by leveraging technology to transform our business
- Implement innovative initiatives to create business value.
Mr Prasad is a graduate from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computing Science, Information Systems and Management and he obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Computing Science and Information Systems from the same university.
Currently he is completing a Leadership Programme through National University of Singapore and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, International Institute of Directors & Managers, Australian Computer Society and an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
He is married to Gayatri and has two sons Siddharth and Shay.
