All scheduled morning flights out of Nadi International Airport have all departed after Fiji Airports electricians rectified an internal electrical power outage at the airport earlier today.
Fiji Airports Chief Executive Officer, Mesake Nawari in a statement said there was a power interruption within the airport between 4.30am and 7am today and electricians were on site and rectified the power outage.
“We sincerely appreciate the understanding and patience rendered by our guests during the course of the outage and we thank you for your cooperation and apologise for the inconvenience caused,” Mr Nawari said.
“Our electricians have been deployed on site working on the fault and although power has been restored and operations are back to normal, our team have got their fingers on the pulse to determine the cause of the fault,” he said.
Mr Nawari said the electrical and maintenance team of operations will provide a report on the issue which will inform actions to implement to ensure we do not face the same issue in future.
He also extended his appreciation to the terminal staff that assisted in following our back-up processes facilitating check-ins and passenger assistance during the power outage.
