National postal services provider Post Fiji Pte Limited yesterday launched its EAD Customs Declaration app, a system application designed to simplify and speed up the process of sending parcels.
The app was developed by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in conjunction with the World Customs Organization (WCO).
The new app means customers can expect reduced wait times and improved customer convenience.
“The EAD Customs Declaration App allows customers to declare the contents of their parcels in advance, directly from the comfort of their own homes or offices,” Post Fiji chief executive officer Isaac Mow said.
“Once the customer enters the necessary details about the items they are sending, the app will generate a unique reference number. Customers can then simply present the open parcel along with the reference number at the post office counter.”
He said the EAD-CDS systems would automatically retrieve the information entered and streamline the entire process.
“The new EAD app ensures compliance while providing a faster, more efficient experience for customers.”
Mr Mow expressed his excitement for the new application and said the initiative was part of their efforts to improve their customers’ service experience.
“The app makes the process of sending parcels much more efficient and reduces the waiting time at the counter.
“We believe this will greatly enhance the overall customer experience while ensuring that every parcel is processed with the highest level of safety and security.”
The app is now available for download on both IOS and Android devices.
