Pope Francis’ funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 0800 GMT, (8:00pm Fiji Time), at St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican said in a statement.
The body of Pope Francis has placed in an open casket during the rite of the declaration of death in Santa Marta residence at the Vatican.
The body of Pope Francis will be taken to St. Peter’s Basilica on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. (0700 GMT), the Vatican said.
His body is currently laid out in a coffin in the chapel of the Santa Marta residence, where he lived during his 12-year papacy.
