Police seize over 1,000 marijuana plants in North raids

Police yesterday conducted raids on three farms in the Tacilevu area on Vanua Levu, seizing over 1,000 plants believed to be marijuana.

During one raid, the alleged farm owner was arrested and taken into police custody.

In a separate search in the same area, three individuals aged 49, 47, and 20 were found with a bag containing dried leaves suspected to be marijuana and were also taken into custody.

The seized substances have been sent for analysis.

Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe said operations are focused on disrupting the drug supply chain, targeting both green and white drugs, and encouraged the public to continue sharing information.
