POLICE have found no evidence linking recent missing persons cases, body discoveries, and the illicit drug trade.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said investigators and forensic teams had advised there was no correlation between the three issues.
He said speculation was being driven by assumptions rather than facts, particularly on social media.
“There are a lot of assumptions being made,” he said.
“We will rely on forensic findings and post-mortem reports.”
The Commissioner noted challenges in missing persons investigations, including delays in reporting cases.
“Some of the missing persons were not reported initially.
“That creates difficulties for police.
He called on families, communities, and traditional structures to take a more active role.
“This cannot be left to the police alone.
“We need the whole community involved.”
He warned against drawing conclusions before investigations were complete.
“If evidence emerges, we will inform the public.
“Until then, we ask people to trust the process.”
