POLICE have secured the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl football title for the eighth consecutive year after a defeating Army 2-0 in a historic first at Subrail Park in Labasa.
After a stalemate first half, Police came back a better side in the second spell as Army fell susceptible to their own indiscipline.
Sairusi Nalaubu netted Police’s first goal sending their faithful supporters and families into a frenzy.
Another indicipline play by Army cost them as Police captain and goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva secured their second goal from the penalty spot.
Tomorrow the main rugby match will take centre stage, starting at 11 am with the women’s match and 3pm with the men’s clash.
