POLICE are investigating the death of a man whose body was found outside the Lautoka Post Office on Tavewa Ave yesterday.
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers transported the body in a body bag to the Lautoka Aspen Hospital mortuary.
Police said the deceased was a known street dweller and was found by a 45-year-old man who reported the matter to police.
“A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death of a man found motionless in Lautoka City this morning (yesterday),” police said in a statement.
The cause of death has not been established.
Meanwhile, Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran said she was not aware of the incident but would comment later.
