A 24-year-old Police officer accused of stealing money from an elderly man has been further remanded in custody.

Elizabeth Sautu made her first appearance before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza at the Suva Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that in March last year, she stole more than $3,000 from a 66-year-old man of Sigatoka.

Following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, she was charged with one count of theft, contrary to Section 291 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
