Police guard CWM hospitalised suspect in Nakasi death case

A police officer has been stationed at the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital to guard a man alleged to have caused the death of his partner during a domestic dispute in Nakasi.

The man, who is currently receiving medical treatment, reportedly sustained injuries during the incident.

The man is a Fiji Corrections Service officer.

The exact circumstances surrounding how he was injured are now the subject of a police investigation.

Yesterday, Nakasi Police discovered the woman, believed to be in her 30s, motionless in her bedroom.

Authorities have confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Further enquiries revealed that the suspect had been admitted to CWM Hospital following the incident.

Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
