The Fiji Police Force has established a 24-hour dedicated call centre at its headquarters as part of efforts to restore public trust and confidence in policing.

Members of the public can report crimes or share information by calling the toll-free number 1681 or by emailing fpf.callcentre@police.gov.fj.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the call centre was created to provide a direct and reliable platform for the public to raise concerns related to police service delivery, report crimes, or provide tips.

“I urge members of the public to utilise the call centre and direct all issues regarding police service or police officers, reports of crime, or the sharing of information,” Commissioner Tudravu said.

“The information will then be redirected to the respective Directors and Divisional Commanders for immediate action, with feedback provided as soon as practicable.”

He said the initiative would also allow police to consolidate information through an official reporting channel, enabling shift supervisors to direct immediate action and improve response times.

Commissioner Tudravu noted that slow response and lack of feedback have often been the subject of complaints against the organisation, and the new system is expected to address these concerns.

He further appealed to members of the public to use the new platform, stressing that reports lodged through official channels will be properly investigated and followed up.
