Police have confirmed a man and woman were charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
The pair appeared in the Sigatoka Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
West police commander SSP Iakobo Vaisewa said the two were intercepted by officers of the Western Narcotics Bureau on November 17 near the Korolevu Community Post.
SSP Vaisewa said the officers searched their vehicle and discovered a bag containing methamphetamine and $8000 in cash, which was believed to have been the proceeds of crime, and several sachets of aluminum foil-wrapped marijuana.
The pair were charged with two counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, one count of bribery, and two of breaching their bail conditions.
