Police Blues are the new champions of the Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s men’s division after edging BLK Lavidi 12–10 in a thrilling final at Subrail Park on Saturday night.
Police opened the scoring through Suliano Savenaca, with Livai Ikanikoda adding the conversion to take an early 7–0 lead.
Just minutes before halftime, BLK Lavidi hit back when Petero Waqa crossed in the corner, narrowing the gap to 7–5 at the break. Lavidi took the lead early in the second half with a try to Jepesa Vunisa, although the conversion attempt was unsuccessful.
With time running out, Police showed composure and determination, sealing the match with the winning try scored by Petero Kelevanua.
Police Blues coach Apenisa Nasilasila praised his players’ resilience, saying the team responded well after their earlier loss in Taveuni and came back stronger to claim the Labasa 7s title.
