Police arrest man allegedly collecting money promising new passports

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly collecting $150 from 10 men in Seaqaqa, Macuata, with promises for an exchange of new passports.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the man was now in custody at the Seaqaqa Police Station.

“He allegedly obtained $150 from 10 people promising them he could arrange passports,” Ms Naisoro said.

She said the man was still being questioned and investigations were continuing.
