Fiji Police have confirmed that 23 motorists were arrested yesterday for drunk driving, as officers intensified road operations over the Boxing Day period.

According to a police statement, 19 drivers were arrested along the Suva corridor, where officers conducted 171 Random Breath Tests (RBTs).

Another four drivers were arrested in Nadi for the same offence.

Police say operations will continue throughout the festive period, with more officers deployed along major highways and in busy urban areas.

Authorities are again urging drivers to plan ahead, use designated drivers, and avoid getting behind the wheel after drinking, as festive-season accidents remain a major concern.
