THE Fiji Kulas will face Papua New Guinea in the semi-final of the OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2025 tomorrow at 3pm. It will be a closely watched contest for both teams, after they emerged on top of their respective pools in the early stages of competition.
For the Kulas, their progression into this stage is a significant one and if successful, they might position themselves closer to winning the tournament, which they have never done before. For PNG, a defeat of the home team on their own turf may be an added touch of brilliance to their campaign.
PNG finished at the top of Group A with seven points, Samoa in second with six, Tahiti in third with two and the Cook Islands having one point. Fiji finished second in Group B with six points, the points applied to first place Solomon Islands and third place Vanuatu.
The Kulas were able to book a semi-final spot since they were the runner-up and had a stronger goal difference. Team captain Cema Nasau told OFC Media after their 0-1 defeat by Vanuatu they would need to recover and polish on what they lacked before meeting PNG.
Meanwhile, in the second semifinal, the Solomon Islands will meet Samoa at 7pm. Both semi-finals will take place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
