Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says his government is not paying lip service to its promises, but actively supporting local businesses and investors who create jobs and drive economic growth.
Speaking at the Fijian Media Association Town Hall in Ba last night, Mr Rabuka cited a new multi-million dollar development for a service station and rest area for truck drivers as an example of tangible government support for private sector initiatives.
“We went to the groundbreaking of a local business investing millions into this project — one that benefits both the economy and the community,” Mr Rabuka said.
“This is not just talk; it’s an example of a government walking the talk.”
He said the development, led by B Prasad and Sons Private Limited in partnership with TotalEnergies, reflects growing confidence in the local economy and demonstrates the government’s commitment to making it easier for businesses to invest and expand.
“When people say we only pay lip service to the things we promise, this is my answer — no, we don’t,” Mr Rabuka said.
“We go out there, support those who take risks, create jobs, and help move Fiji forward.”
