PM Rabuka condemns terrorist attack at Bondi Beach

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, has strongly condemned the antisemitic terrorist attack at Bondi Beach, Australia, which occurred during celebrations marking the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

On behalf of the Government and the people of Fiji, Prime Minister Rabuka expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.

He said Fiji stands firmly with its Vuvale during this difficult time, adding that the thoughts and prayers of the people of Fiji are with the victims, survivors, and their families.

Prime Minister Rabuka also acknowledged the extraordinary bravery shown by Australian police officers and bystanders, commending their courage in saving innocent lives.

He reiterated that there should be zero tolerance for terrorism, hate, and violence, stressing that such inhumane acts must be condemned in all forms. The Prime Minister expressed hope that justice will prevail, peace will be restored, and the resilience of Australia’s people will remain strong.

The Prime Minister has reached out to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, conveying Fiji’s solidarity and unwavering support.
