PM Rabuka arrives in Solomon Islands for Pacific Islands Forum Leaders’ meeting

PM Rabuka in Honiara today – FIJI GOVERNMENT

Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sitiveni Rabuka has arrived in the Solomon Islands to attend the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders’ Meeting, scheduled from September 8 to 12.

Joining the Prime Minister as part of Team Fiji are Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, Minister for Information, Lynda Tabuya and Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Raijeli Taga

“The Pacific Islands Forum has always been the cornerstone of our regional solidarity,” PM Rabuka said.

“Fiji’s foreign policy position of ‘family first Pacific regionalism’ is key to our approach on matters concerning the region.”

“Fiji stands ready to work with our brothers and sisters across the Blue Pacific to ensure that our ocean remains not just our greatest resource, but also a source of peace and stability for generations to come.”

The Forum also serves as an opportunity for Fiji to reaffirm its commitment to collective action and to contribute to shaping the Pacific’s shared vision of peace, prosperity, and social inclusion.

While Prime Minister Rabuka is away on official duties, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation,  Viliame Gavoka, will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
