Roneel Prakash is all set to defend his title at the upcoming Vonu Pro-am to be played at Denarau tomorrow and culminating on Saturday over 36 holes.
100 players have registered for the two days event and competition is expected to be tough in all categories.
Professionals will be playing for $6000 in prize money, while amateurs men and women will be playing for attractive prizes.
This is the 26th year of the event and Fiji PGA is thankful to Paradise Beverage for the support in the last 25 years and the aim is to build this event and make it a grand one in 2029.
Golf Fiji President Amitesh Chandra said they look forward to the two days event.
“We are proud to be part of an event with such a rich history.
“The Vonu Pro-am is not only a celebration of great golf but also a showcase of how partnerships like the one with Paradise Beverages can grow the sport in Fiji.
“We’re excited about this year’s competition and what lies ahead.”
Tomasi Tuivuna current leader of Fiji PGA order of merit is also in fine form along with Zoheer Ahmad and Vikrant Chandra in the pro division.
Tracey Salthouse is favourites in ladies category alongside side Amy Subam
Praveer Chand is the favourite in men’s category.
