Players join netball program

The NEWWORLD IGA Suva Netball Association has sent in two of its players for the PacificAus Sports program in Australia.

National player Matila Vocea of the Lomaiviti Netball Club and Ema Mualuvu of the Tagimoucia Sports Club.

This program will allow the two players to travel to Australia and play for the Northern Mendi Rays in the 2021 Netball Queensland HART Sapphire Series which is held from June to October.

Thus, the objective of the program is to expose players to high level competitions, high performance coaching, training, and leadership development as well as education opportunities.

Suva Netball president, Georgina Lasaqa officially handed over cheques to each of the two Suva players at the Holiday Inn and well wished and bide them farewell.

“We commend NEWWORLD IGA for recommitting its sponsorship this year,” she said.

“Through this partnership we have been able to continue to develop players at all levels and create national reps and assist them realise their dreams. For this we are grateful to NEWWORLD IGA for believing and being part of this journey with us,” she said.
