Five Suva Rugby Union players flew out of the country on the weekend to play club rugby in Israel.
The five players, Ananaia Rabonu, Nemani Buliruarua, Misaele Petero, Israel Azariah, Sailasa Turagaluvu and former Fiji 7s star and Olympics gold medallist Jasa Veremalua flew out of the country on Saturday from the Nadi International Airport, destiny bound for their new club, Tel Aviv Heat, in Israel.
“It is an exciting moment for our players and Jasa, and we wish them all the best for the opportunity ahead,” said Suva team manager Nemani Tuifagalele.
Tuifagalele said he was proud of the dedication of the five players who were leaving them, saying it was a challenge to all other Suva players on what hard work behind
the scenes can do.
“They dedicated themselves to working hard in their own homes during the lockdown unseen, and it has paid dividends.
“This is not the last of players produced by Suva rugby to be spotted by overseas talents, and we know more opportunities will come knocking.”
