Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel reminded the Digicel Fiji Baby Bula Boys to play as a team and create history at the OFC U16 Championship in Tahiti which kicks off on July 23.

Speaking to the team during a presentation in Ba yesterday, Patel challenged them to become the first Fiji U16 team to qualify for the FIFA U16 World Cup.

“You will need to help each other out, work as a team. We have given you everything you need, and now it’s up to you to prove yourselves.

“You will fly the Fiji flag, work as a team and create history,” Patel said.

Patel also reminded the players to be disciplined and consider education as they build their football careers.

“You have to be dedicated to everything that you do and discipline yourselves.

“Also remember, education is the key. You need to educate yourselves because a football career typically lasts until around 38-45 years.” he added.

The president asked the players how confident they were about booking a World Cup spot, to which they all confidently replied that they were ready.

Patel will be travelling to France for the Olympic Games.

“I will be watching your games from France and look forward to seeing you create history,” he concluded. |
