Three-time local body building champion Jordan Pillay will be flexing with Fijian flair at the 2023 Grand Prix in Los Angeles, US on Saturday.
Pillay, the winner of many bodybuilding titles including Mr Suva and Mr Fiji, enters the history books as the first Fijian to participate in the event.
The winner of two silver medals – the South Pacific and the New Zealand IFBB Pro League in the men’s physic division – said he was humbled to represent Fiji and grateful to Flour Mills of Fiji Ltd for the $10,000 sponsorship towards the his participation at the competition.
“In this sport you need to be disciplined, make a lot of effort and have a lot of motivation, they call it ‘grind’ or the ‘hustle’.
“But the bottom line remains the same, you need to put in the work, results don’t happen overnight, work hard, stay consistent,” he said.
“It feels really amazing and I am proud to represent my country and to do what I love doing best.
“I’m really grateful and appreciate the sponsors FMF for allowing me to participate, and to provide the support I need to fulfil my dreams.”
Pillay leaves for the US today.
