AVNEET Rahul Sharma is a young man driven by a deep desire to give and succeed.
The academic path for the 20-year-old Sawani, Nausori, resident was not straightforward.
He dropped out in Year 12, at a critical stage in his education.
This could have easily derailed his ambitions, however, he refused to let this setback define his future.
Inspired by friends and motivated by a strong inner resolve, Sharma enrolled in an automotive electrical course at Pacific Polytech in Nausori. This choice reflected both his passion and practical mind-set, with an aim to build a career in a specialised technical field.
“I completed my primary education at Rambisessar Chaudhary Memorial Primary School and secondary education at Saraswati College,” he said.
“At Pacific Polytech, I obtained a certificate in automotive electrical level 3. It was my own goal to achieve this, but my friends motivated me.”
Life tested Sharma when he suffered a backbone fracture as a child, a serious injury that could have ended his educational pursuits, but instead of giving up, he showed remarkable courage and perseverance.
“I was a very sickly person.
“When I was a child, I had a backbone fracture and that affected me a lot throughout my studies. Sometimes it was very painful and at times I couldn’t breathe properly.”
Now, with his automotive electrical course completed, Sharma is determined to further his education. His goal is not only personal success but also to honour the sacrifices made by his family.
He wants to secure a stable and prosperous future, to give back to those who supported him unconditionally.
“I have some plans for my parents and that is to give them all the enjoyment they need as they sacrificed a lot for me.
“I would like to return it all to them by giving them a better place, a better home, a better future.”
Sharma loves to play games online although most times he can be seen in his car.
His story is a powerful testament of resilience, ambition and gratitude.
“My message to others is to never lose hope.
“There will be many obstacles on the way, but don’t let them stop you from completing your education and achieving your dreams.”
“I dropped out in year 12 but never lost hope. I kept trying my best to achieve what I wanted because I knew the road to success never ends.”
