Landowners must not be deprived of the revenue that is rightfully theirs, states the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB).

TLTB says in a statement released today that it has given a 30-day grace period for tenants to pay their arrears that ends on November 30th.

“TLTB had earlier issued arrears notices and reminders, emphasizing the necessity of compliance to preserve the validity of their lease agreements with TLTB,” said the statement.

“To assist tenants in addressing their dues, TLTB has also consulted with commercial banks to provide financial assistance options.”

“Cooperation from tenants is important in ensuring that lease monies are disbursed to landowners on time, who depend on this income for their livelihoods.”

TLTB adds November 30th deadline will mark the end of the grace period, after which TLTB may resort to enforcement actions and even repossession of the land.
