Fiji Airways has announced the appointment of Paul Scurrah as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November 2025.
Chairman of the Fiji Airways Group, Nalin Patel, said the Board was confident in Mr. Scurrah’s ability to lead the airline into its next phase of growth.
“On behalf of the Board and the entire Fiji Airways Group, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Paul Scurrah as the incoming Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fiji Airways,” Mr. Patel said.
“Mr. Scurrah brings more than two decades of executive experience across aviation, transport, logistics and tourism. His proven leadership, results-driven approach, and focus on cultural transformation make him an ideal leader for our next chapter.”
Mr. Scurrah most recently served as CEO of Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight company, where he led a major transformation programme focused on operational excellence, safety innovation, and sustainability.
He previously held the position of CEO at Virgin Australia, where he was recognised for his strategic leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“When international travel came to a halt, Mr. Scurrah led a rapid and complex restructuring that preserved core routes, safeguarded jobs, and positioned the airline for recovery,” Mr. Patel added.
Mr. Scurrah’s earlier career includes senior appointments at Queensland Rail and DP World Australia, and he was also a founding executive and investor in Rex Airlines, Australia’s largest independent regional carrier.
“The Board is confident that under his leadership, Fiji Airways will continue to thrive and deliver on its promise to be the airline of choice in the region and internationally.”
“We warmly welcome Mr. Scurrah to the Fiji Airways family and look forward to a successful journey ahead.”
He was replace outgoing CEO Mr. Andre Viljoen, who led the airline for a decade.
