Representatives from leading global information technology brands converged in Nadi this week to showcase the partnership they hope to establish with Fiji and her regional neighbours in the not-too-distant future at the inaugural Innovate 23 conference.

VirtualFlex Solutions Ltd senior network and security engineer Avishkar Naicker said the conference provided a clear pathway for the growth of the local IT industry.

“We’ve got for the first time the managing directors, directors of cyber security companies across the globe under one roof,” Mr Naicker said.

“We’ve got the likes of Lenovo, we’ve got the likes of Trend, Micro, Cisco and VMware who are leaders in the security space and they have actually brought down their executives to actually showcase that the partnership that they want to have with Fiji is is genuine.

“They want to partner with providers as the solutions architect such as VritualFlex to actually ensure that products and services are delivered correctly to our customers and they’re well informed.”

Mr Naicker said the conference on Denarau, Nadi was mainly about awareness and establishing solid partnerships with global companies. With the increasing use of technology in the world, he said it was just proper for a high-level conference as such to be brought home and instill confidence in global brands.

“We also want to empower people who use the internet and IT systems to be aware as well.”

Meanwhile, VirtualFlex founder and chief technology officer Navin Lal commented that being surrounded by product exhibits of the latest innovations in Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation created buzz in the local IT space.

He said being exposed to the brightest minds sharing strategies on risk mitigation, proactive prevention and digital resilience and being connected to a global community of like-minded early adopters was what the conference was all about.
