Patel confirms new head coach

Former Welsh international Rob Sherman is the new Fiji Football Association head coach.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel confirmed this at the official launch of the McDonald’s Youth Development League at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.

Sherman has signed a three-year contract and will be taking the team to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

“It was through a consultation with OFC that I got close to Fiji FA, and now that I want to get back into coaching, I am glad I have taken up this position.

He said he aimed to make the national senior football side qualify for the World Cup.
