The entire family of the Unity Fiji party joins Fijians and the world in mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth II.
While paying tribute, party leader Savenaca Narube said a historical era had come to an end in the Commonwealth of Nations and the entire world with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
“She was dearly loved by everyone across the globe,” the former governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji said.
“She was the bastion of England, the United Kingdom, and the Commonwealth, providing the neutrality, the dignity, and the graciousness of the royal family.
“Queen Elizabeth ascended the throne in the year I was born in 1954. She reigned for 68 long years. “Some of those years were turbulent ones for the royal family.
“But she carried the throne with grace and dignity.” He said the passing of her husband, Prince Philip, who was always by her side, early last year, saw her carry on her royal duties on her own.
“Queen Elizabeth will be greatly missed by all her subjects and the people around the world. On behalf of Unity Fiji, I extend our condolences to Prince Charles and the royal family on their great loss.
“Our dear Queen has passed on. Long live the King.”
