Four individuals named in the controversial Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry report have had their judicial review application — to challenge the report — scheduled for a hearing in December.
The applicants are former FICAC commissioner Barbara Malimali, Fiji Law Society president William Wylie Clarke, the society’s immediate past president, Laurel Vaurasi, and former attorney-general Graham Leung.
The parties are challenging the validity of the report, seeking an order to quash both its findings and recommendations, along with other declarations.
The respondent in the respective cases are the Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of Ms Malimali as FICAC commissioner, COI, and other associated parties.
The hearing on leave for a judicial review on the matter commences on December 12.
