Paralympic team gets financial boost

Update: 5:43PM THE Fiji team to the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has received a financial boost for their preparations.

Yesterday, International School Suva gave the team a more than $4000 cheque during the school’s fun day.

Speaking on behalf of the students and parents of the school, ISS Parents and Teachers Association president, Sharon-Smith Johns said the money was to assist the team as they prepare to participate at the much-anticipated Paralympic Games in Brazil.

The cheque was received by Fiji Paralympic coach, Fred Fatiaki.

Mr Fatiaki acknowledged the school for their support and said they were grateful for such support rendered by the school to the team.

The 15th Summer Paralympic Games will be held from September 7 to September 18.
