FOUR Fiji swimmers are through to the semi-finals of the men’s 200 meters butterfly event at the 2018 Junior Pacific Swimming Championships underway in Suva.
In the heats this morning, Fiji’s Temafa Yalimaiwai, Mosese Bobi and Damien Kitione clocked qualifying times and will feature in the semi-finals this evening.
USA’s Gianluca Urlando is the favourite in the event clocking the best time of 1 minute 56.37 seconds in the heats.
In the women’s 200m butterfly event, five Fijian swimmers took part, however, none of them could make it past the heats.
Rosemarie Rova clocked the best time out of the five with a time of 2 minutes 35.94 seconds but it wasn’t enough to take her through to the next round.
The finals begin at 5pm at the National Aquatic Centre.
