The staff of Castaway Island Resort, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, and paddlers from the Nadi Bay Canoe Club invite you to join a meaningful and exciting event as we come together for the Paddle for Cancer, an outrigger paddling fundraiser held in memory of the late Christian Pesamino.
Christian, a beloved member of the Nadi Bay Canoe Club, was a passionate paddler whose life was tragically cut short by leukemia.
His enthusiasm for paddling, combined with his vibrant spirit, left a lasting mark on everyone who had the honour of knowing him.
This special fundraiser will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with paddlers taking on a challenging 29-kilometer journey from Castaway Island Resort to Vuda Marina.
Using V6 outrigger canoes, participants will paddle through the crystal-clear waters of the Mamanuca Island Group and into Vuda Marina, all while honoring Christian’s memory and raising awareness for the fight against leukemia and other forms of cancer.
As we navigate the scenic waters of the islands, every stroke represents a commitment to helping those who continue to battle cancer.
All funds raised through this event will go directly to the Fiji Cancer Society, an organisation dedicated to providing essential support to individuals and families affected by cancer.
The society also works tirelessly to promote cancer awareness, facilitate early detection, and offer vital resources for cancer treatment across Fiji.
This event not only commemorates Christian Pesamino’s life but also serves as an opportunity to come together as a community to support cancer patients and their families.
