Youths in the Pacific are benefitting from the valuable learning resources and toolkits to boost their capacity from the Professionalising Youth Work in the Pacific modules.
Launched in October 2020 by the Commonwealth of Learning, Lakehead University, the University of the South Pacific and Ignite4Change, ‘Professionalising Youth Work in the Pacific’ – the Moodle platform has enabled users to access learning resources developed by the platform from anywhere – be it from their homes, offices, institutions or organisations.
Speaking to the platform, online course coordinator Broderick Mervyn said the modules were an excellent platform to strengthen youth engagement in Pacific societies.
“These module series are designed for learners who work or plan to work with youth,” Mr Mervyn said.
A group of 30 youth work experts from Pacific Island nations originally developed the module topics and access to online learning is of even more importance now, particularly as some Pacific countries continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
The modules cover topics such as youth engagement, climate change, health and well-being, entrepreneurship, and good governance.
