Update: 6:09PM The World Rugby Pacific Challenge has become a trial basis for the new points system.
Law 9.A.1 titled points values stipulate that tries will
now be valued at six points as opposed to five.
Further to this a conversion will be valued at two points
along with penalty and drop goals.
Japan faced Tonga in the first match of round
one in the Pacific Challenge.
