TWENTY-six records were broken yesterday during the Ovalau Zone competition at Nasau Park, Levuka.
Fourteen records were from the girls division with 12 from the boys division.
St John College scooped the school overall prize with 40 gold medals, 42 silver, and 45 bronze medals with second place; Levuka Public School getting 28 gold medals, 21 silver, 24 bronze medals.
Delana Methodist High School third third with 26 gold medals, 33 silver and 25 bronze medals.
Levuka Public School student Tarusila Qoli was awarded best female athlete with colleague Joeli Tutoga as best male athlete.
Tarusila broke the intermediate girls 400m and 800m records yesterday and won the gold medal in the in the 4x100m intermediate girls.
“I did not know that I have broken both records until it was announce during the presentation,” she said.
The Nasolo, Bua lass is confident in winning two gold medals during the Coca-Cola Games.
“I will improve my training to win gold for my school,” said Qoli.
Cawaci girls and boys won both titles medal tally girls – 19 gold medals, 21 silver, 21 bronze medals. Boys – 21 gold medals, 21 silver and 24 bronze medals.
Levuka Public School will host the next Ovalau Coca-Cola Games zone next year.
