SOUTH Sea Cruises general manager Fiji & Asia Sales Loretta St Julian-Ooms was awarded the Dixon Seeto Tourism Leader Award at the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards 2024.

The award recognises an individual’s outstanding contribution to Fiji tourism over many years.

Ms St Julian-Ooms said she was proud to represent South Sea Cruises and represent women in the tourism industry and women in general.

For her it was all about commitment and hard work to get to where she is today.

“It’s hard work knowing that you are never going to die from hard work,” she said.

“Give it all you’ve gotten and always have a positive mindset in whatever you do.

“I’ve been in the tourism industry since 2008.

“I love empowering and leading my team, so I really want to put more in developing my staff and developing myself as well.”

According to South Sea Cruises Group, Ms St Julian-Ooms joined the company as a Business Development Manager in 2017 looking after the domestic market and trade partners before expanding into the Asian region.

Ms St Julian-Ooms was also working with the Sheraton and Westin Resorts Fiji where she progressed into the role of director of Sales.

She holds a Bachelor of Business with majors in marketing and management, and a diploma in travel and tourism from the Auckland University of Technology.

Ms St Julian-Ooms is also a director of Tourism Fiji.
