Outsource Fiji has appointed chartered accountant Chandan Ohri as its new president – marking a significant step forward for Fiji’s rapidly growing outsourcing industry.
Mr Ohri brings with him more than 30 years of global experience.
A qualified chartered accountant with an MBA in International Business, he has worked across both the public and private sectors.
His experience covers finance strategy, digital transformation, business process improvement, and large scale enterprise consulting.
He has also led work across areas like ERP systems, operations, data analytics, business continuity, and change management with a strong focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
Mr Ohri founded Duco Consultancy, and held senior roles at IBM Australia and New Zealand.
He has also worked with KPMG across the Asia Pacific region and in New Zealand, and served as a director at BDO New Zealand.
His experience spans a wide range of industries, including public sector, financial services, retail, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing.
Beyond his professional career, Mr Ohri has also contributed to industry and professional bodies; and has served as president of CPA Australia in New Zealand, president of ISACA New Zealand, chairman of ICAI New Zealand.
He also brings governance experience as a director of the Bank of India in New Zealand, and as a member of the Outsource Fiji executive committee.
Outsource Fiji executive director Josefa Wivou said with this level of experience and leadership, they were confident that Mr Ohri would take Outsource Fiji into its next phase of growth – “a phase where we continue to build, innovate, and strengthen Fiji’s position on the global stage”.
“We are not just looking to grow as an industry. We are looking to lead, to evolve, and to create long term value for Fiji,” Mr Wivou said.
Mr Ohri said he was honoured to step into the new role at a defining time for the industry, adding the appointment represented a collective mandate to lead with purpose, strengthen governance, and advance the strategic direction of Fiji’s outsourcing industry.
“We are no longer asking to be recognised. Fiji is already on the map. The responsibility now is to consistently deliver at a level that builds long term confidence and positions us as a destination of choice,” he said at a press conference in Suva yesterday.
“The industry is evolving, and so must we.
“Fiji should not aim to compete at the lowest level. We must lead where value is created and be known for delivering insight, reliability, and long term partnerships.”
“At a time of significant global opportunity, our focus will be on elevating industry standards, deepening international partnerships, and positioning Fiji as a premier destination for high value outsourcing services.”
