Opposition MP Ketan Lal has taken aim at the People’s Alliance Party (PAP), describing it on social media as “a museum of incompetent politicians clinging to old glory and empty slogans.”
He made this reference in relation to the PAP annual general meeting that was held in Suva yesterday.
Mr Lal accused the governing party of betraying the young supporters who once powered its rise, saying the People’s Alliance had “abandoned the very generation that built their movement from the ground up.”
“Once upon a time, the Young Alliance Movement was the heartbeat of their campaign,” he wrote.
“But that dream has turned into a nightmare of betrayal and hypocrisy. The same leaders who promised inclusion and fresh ideas have turned the party into the opposite.”
He said the party’s annual general meeting was “a reunion of the old guard, not a gathering for change.”
Mr Lal said there was “no youth energy, no new ideas — just the same faces recycling the same failures.”
