Opposition leader announces passing of SODELPA MP

Update: 4:40PM FIJI’S Leader of Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa today announced the passing of a member of the Social Democratic Liberal Party(SODELPA), Ratu Sela Nanovo.

Ratu Sela was also the Opposition spokesperson for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and also a member of several socio-economic parliament committees.

Ro Teimumu said Ratu Sela passed away in Suva yesterday, and funeral arrangement was being organised.

Ratu Sela spent 25 years with the Fiji Development Bank and was also the CEO of the Lami Town Council before he joined Parliament.

He was also a member of the Kadavu Provincial Council and the Kadavu Provincial Development Board.

Ratu Sela is survived by his wife, four children and four grandchildren.

Ro Teimumu said according to the Constitution, the next SODELPA eligible candidate for the vacant parliamentary seat was former Finance Minister Ratu Jone Kubuabola.

Ratu Sela will be laid to rest next Thursday.
